15 and a half weeks...belly bump!

In my own defense, this picture was taken after eating orange chicken from Panda Express.

Feeling better...for the moment

Well, the past 8 weeks have definitely been trying but I am starting to have more good days than bad and I am throwing up less frequently, which I am so thankful for. I started back to work part-time this week and it has been very good. I'm glad to be out of the house and not watching horrible daytime tv.

The big news is that we have an ultrasound scheduled for January 14th which will hopefully tell us if the baby is a boy or girl. We couldn't be more excited for that and I'm ready to start planning out the nursery, which I've been doing in my head now for about 3 years...lol.

I have a definite belly bump so I'll have Ryan take a picture of me and post it up here. I'm still not eating very much, but I think I'm gaining back some of the weight I lost from being sick. My latest and greatest cravings are for Ramen noodles - only Chicken flavored, and apple juice. I seriously could drink a gallon of apple juice a day. Is that bad?

I'm excited for Christmas and I hope that I can stuff myself (and the baby) silly.

Able to be on computer today...

It's weird being sick all of the time because normal activities have started making me nauseous just thinking about them...like reading and being on the computer. So I have to fit these things in when I'm feeling ok, which still isn't very often. I'm sick, but not to the point that I have to go to the hospital and I'm starting to feel jealous of those women who spend time in the hospital and get the nausea medication intravenously...how wrong is that! Oh well.

Well, I'll be 12 weeks on Tuesday so hopefully by week 14 this will be over. My sister's sickness ended at 14 weeks and she says that after that she felt great. She could be lying to make me feel better though...

Ryan, of course, has been great. He offered to fly me back to Ohio since I felt so good there. I totally would have done it if my mom and stepdad weren't going on a week cruise over Thanksgiving. Thanks alot, Mom. So Ryan has been bringing me water and Saltines and leaving the room when I start puking. He's the best.

Been a while...

Sorry it's been so long since we last "blogged." Ryan and I went to Ohio for 4 days and I was hardly sick at all...it was awesome.

We saw the doctor today who said that everything looks good and I'm right on track. We heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time which was amazing. 163 bpm was his/her heart rate. That's me during spin class...lol.

Here are some pics from Ohio.

Ryan and I at the OU vs. Someone I can't remember football game. At the football game, the OU mascot parachuted from a helicopter but he lost his head about halfway down! It landed right in front of us and my brother caught it. That was the best part of the game!

This is my niece, Taryn...our own little Bobcat!

Here's Ryan chasing Oscar, Taryn's dog. Look at all the leaves!

Here's the fam on our last day. We are just missing Jenn, my sister-in-law, and my grandparents.

This is a video of Ryan doing the hula hoop on Wii Fit. My family says this is how I ended up knocked-up...

9 weeks!

Well, today I'm 9 weeks pregnant and still feeling like poop all of the time. I started working part time this week, though, so hopefully that will help. We leave for Ohio on Friday, which we are really excited about. It will be sooooo nice to get out of town and be with family who will listen to me whine and moan and feed me lasagna. The baby is the size of a grape now, I guess.

We had a good time at the Halloween party on Saturday night. Ryan had a little bit TOO much fun. Our friends Candi and Jeff had the best costumes, hands down.

Help fight

Our friend, and fellow police-wife, Kim Miller was just recently diagnosed with colon cancer. Please visit her page at: http://kimfightscancer.blogspot.com. We are praying for her and her family daily. She is just a year older than Ryan so this has been a real wake up call for us.

Week 8!

Today I'm officially 8 weeks pregnant...not that I'm counting. Morning (all day) sickness is still horrible, but luckily I have the best husband in the world.
Other than that, things are pretty status quo. We are getting excited for our Ohio trip on Nov. 7th. Also getting excited to throw Jaimee's baby shower on Nov. 15th.
Meanwhile, I've asked to work only part-time and one of my bosses was totally receptive. He was going to talk it over with the other and let me know...no word yet, but I think they will go for it. If they don't, they'll have to deal with me leaving early anyway on days when I can't function.
All for now!

Boy or Girl?

Well, according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar, we will be having a boy. Our friends, Kyle and Andrea, are 2 for 2 using the calendar so we'll see. Anyone else have success with this?

I am still suffering through all-day-sickness. It is unbearable to be at work, especially since I'm in the front office and always have to be "on." Unlike my sister, I can't just crawl into a model home bed and take a nappy nap. I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing me complain, too, so I try to just keep it in.

Ryan is amazing. He has taken over the domestic chores and has made me dinner every night for two weeks now, as well as doing the laundry, floors and dishes. I can't imagine having to do this alone...there's no way! I will be so glad when this phase is over.

This pregnancy is brought to you by....

....The Number 3!

No, we're not having triplets...its just that our little peanut looks like the number three. The top is the head and we were able to see the heart fluttering right under the top part.

Also, we can't call the little girl/guy a peanut because of, well, Peanut! (Our nephew Andrew will forever be "Peanut" to us...) So we're open to suggestions...

This is how I feel...lol...

We're good!

We just had our first ultrasound and the baby is there, heart beating and everything! The sonographer said everything looked good and the baby's heartbeat is 120 bmp, which is good. I'm a week behind what we thought I was, only because I must have ovulated a week later than the average woman. So, officially, I'm at 6 weeks, 3 days instead of 7w, 3d. This pushes my due date back to June 9th. The doctor did an exam and said everything looked good and recommended some different things for my morning sickness that has hit me with a vengeance and stays with me all day. It's actually worse at night. We got some pictures of the little bean, but my scanner here at work isn't working. So I'll post those later today when I get home and can use our scanner. The baby looks like the number 3. We were able to see the flutter of the heartbeat, which was really cool. I go back in 4 weeks and they'll give me another ultrasound just to measure the baby and determine exactly how far along I am.

Blueberry in my belly!

We have a blueberry now! I had my first bout of morning sickness today, but it wasn't bad at all. It went away as soon as I sat down with my bowl of Coco Roos. Only a few more days until the big ultrasound! Keep your fingers crossed!

Just for fun

We went to Babies R Us the other day just to see what we've gotten ourselves into...and it was overwhelming to say the least. The best part, however, was getting to park in the expectant mothers spot! Ryan was afraid they'd yell at us so he told me to stick my stomach out as far as possible, which isn't that hard to do these days...no morning sickness yet so I'm eating everything in sight.

6 weeks and counting

Well, now we have a lentil instead of a sesame seed. This week I'm not as tired and still no morning sickness (knock on wood). I don't know how I'm going to wait until the 17th for the first ultrasound!

1st Prenatal Visit

Ok, so we saw our doctor today who was really happy for us. I told him about all the minor aches and pains I am having and he said that was completely normal. I wasn't able to have an ultrasound today because the baby is too small to even see, so we scheduled one for two weeks from today. At that point, the heart should be beating and the doctor can make sure the baby is in the right spot. We just ask for your continued prayers that everything develops like it's supposed to! Happy Friday! Oh yeah, the picture is of me right after the appointment - they drew blood and she had to try in both arms...I got a little woozy. Good thing Ryan was there to hold my hand!

Good Stuff

It is kind of hard to believe that I am pregnant because I don't really feel any different. My stomach kinda hurts after I eat, and today lunch totally repulsed me, but other than that I'm feeling the same. The only real thing I've noticed is my complete and utter exhaustion at the end of the day. By 7pm I am ready to crawl in bed, but then I wake up bright and early with more energy than I've ever had in the morning. It's cool. I just pray that the baby is in the right spot and everything is growing normally. Waiting for my doctor's appointment has been tough this week. I just want to tell everyone already!

Finally! We're pregnant!

I found out on Monday, September 29, 2008 that I am pregnant. I took three tests just to be sure and called my doctor right away. I scheduled my first prenatal appointment for Friday, so we're excited for that. After I got home from work, I told Ryan the good news and he was thrilled. We are still in shock and just waiting for the doctor to tell us that everything looks good. Your prayers are appreciated! Oh yeah, our baby is the size of a sesame seed right now but his/her heart will be beating soon!
